Prized Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure running back Darrell Scott has narrowed his college choices to Texas and Colorado, said Roger Sonsini, an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at St. Bonaventure. In fact, Sonsini said Friday he believes Scott has already made his choice. Scott, the No. 6 recruit in the nation on Rivals.com and the top-rated running back, has given few interviews during the recruiting process. Scott had an in-home visit with Longhorns head coach Mack Brown and assistant coaches Bobby Kennedy and Major Applewhite last week. Kennedy was back in California on Tuesday for a second visit. Sonsini said Friday that Colorado coach Dan Hawkins was expected to get an in-home visit with Scott that night. New UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel visited St. Bonaventure on Tuesday and made a last-ditch attempt to get Scott to consider the Bruins. But Sonsini said Friday that Scott has no interest in UCLA.

Finally an every down RB!!!! On Wed. we will party on 6th street!!! B/c Scott will be coming to the 40 acres!!! Texas will have a great RB for the next 4 years!!! TEXAS FIGHT!!!

February 3, 2008  11:38 PM ET

Cheesy, you know better...the days of the Meineke Bowl are over in Boulder. Again. You're just afraid to admit it. Scott's goin to CU, where he belongs.

FIGHT CU DOWN THE FIELD!!

February 4, 2008  07:33 AM ET

Milehigh, even if Scott lowers his standards and goes to CU, it will still be a few more years of garbage bowls (if you're lucky) before Hawkins has them ready to compete with the likes of Kansas and Mizzou in the Big 12 North alone.

February 4, 2008  09:34 AM ET

My guess is Texas. His uncle may be a Buffalo receiver, but this guy seemed real excited when Jamaal Charles declared for the Draft leading me to think he wants to be the man in the Burnt Orange jersey.

February 4, 2008  12:21 PM ET

He has been CU or UT for months. Wishing it was Wednesday....

February 4, 2008  01:02 PM ET

Here is how I see it playing out. He will go to CU and then when he is sick of the coaches at CU he will transfer to Texas. Just like he did in high school.

February 4, 2008  05:16 PM ET

If he goes to UT he'll be trapped in the same lousy system as Jamaal Charles, who they did not figure out how to use until his last 6 games. He is a fool to go to UT, without the extraordinary talent represented by Vince Young, Mack Brown has not wona single conference championship, a single BCS Bowl game(much less ever been to one without VY), and has done less with more talent than any coach since John Cooper at Ohio State.

February 4, 2008  05:40 PM ET

CU had dismal recuirting in the waning Barnett years, and freshmen got a lot of playing time last year. Scott can look forward to playing time and getting more from less, or going to UT where they always squeeze less from the cream of the crop (one Vince Young year notwithstanding).

February 5, 2008  11:57 AM ET

Same 'ol Mack bashing. He only has the best record of any coach in college football over the past 8-10 years. You guys crack me up! How many national championships does Stoop have? How 'bout Saban? How 'bout Miles? The guy delivers wins and as a devout Texas fan, I am glad to have him. Since the inception of the BCS, LSU is the only repeat. Get a grip. Atleast Texas is always in the conversation for the NC. Can't say that about CU in a very long time. HOOK'EM HORNS!!

February 5, 2008  12:20 PM ET

I'm with Jaybird. Yeah I talk about Mack sometimes, but UT fans can do that. Nobody else can. Just like your crazy drunk uncle. Family can talk about family, you can't (even if you do have a point).

With that said, this kid says he wants a National Championship. Should he go to Texas or Colorado? hmm...("Jeopardy" theme music) This question is so easy it could be featured on "Who's Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" Let's find out if Darrell Scott is.
