08:12 AM ET 03.18 | Welcome to the Mark Teixeira Watch. The Yankees are in such bad shape, even the injuries they know about are getting worse. And the possibility of Mark Teixeira undergoing potential season-ending surgery on his injured right wrist is a real one. Teixeira revealed yesterday the injury, which was originally thought to be a strained tendon, is instead a partially torn tendon sheath -- which covers the tendon and keeps it in place. General manager Brian Cashman said yesterday there was a 75 percent chance the first baseman wouldn't go under the knife and surgery would be "the worst-case scenario." But with the way the Yankees' luck has been lately, it's hard to imagine anything else.

I think we really need to look at steroid use and muscle and ligament damage ..and the non ability to heal properly or quickly when these muscles and ligaments get damaged....

Me too!
It's just plain bad for MLB on the whole because just about every team has players participating who are going to be more prone to injury not only during the tournament but the regular MLB season as well.

IF Texeira really wants to play without pain,,just use your healthy hand arm/ if texeira really wants to be part of the yankees team, then he really needs to make adjustments and play with one solo arm plain and simple,,,,plus the DH spot should belong to him 100%

wiseup: Most of the Yankee's starting lineup is in the twilight of their careers. their injurieshave been more severe and takes longer to heal. Time for Yankees to take steps to get younger.
