Chiefs could trade Branden Albert

12:26 PM ET 03.18 | The Kansas City Chiefs have had a whirlwind offseason thus far, and Peter King suggests it might not be over yet. King believes that the team could be listening to offers for left tackle Branden Albert, whom the Chiefs retained with their franchise tag two weeks ago. Should Kansas City feel like a long-term contract isn't going to happen, a trade would make plenty of sense for a team with the No. 1 overall pick and no glaring needs at the moment.

"A trade would make plenty of sense for a team with the No. 1 overall pick and no glaring needs at the moment." Did I miss something? Did KC go 16-0 last year? I could have sworn they went 2-14. Or did they change the rules and 2-14 is actually a good thing??

Oh Wait! We already know they're going to go 16-0 THIS year and THAT'S why they say there's no glaring holes anywhere.

Sounds like SI is drinking that Alex Smith koolaid.

Maybe HCF mailed some to them. He was drinking a lot of it earlier this year in his TDs.

Yea I am a fan of the team and that 'no glaring needs' comment struck me as very odd and silly. We have plenty of holes that need filling and four or five pick ups from free agency didn't eliminate them all.

The Chiefs have a glaring need for wins, and quality offensive linemen are always needed. Especially given that they released Eric Winston, their RT, so they'll need a replacement for RT even if they draft a LT.

I'm sure the Chiefs are listening for trade offers, as they should be. See if someone knocks your socks off. If not, sign Albert and plug him in at one of the tackle spots, depending on who you draft.

Kanas City might be able to sqeek into the playoffs, Denver is not stronger on defense and Peyton sure looked old against the Ravens in the OT! Who knows I would keep Albert and roll the dice!

No glaring needs,,, hmmmm,,,O.K let's trade all of Detroit for all of K.C. LMAO,,,,,

The Chiefs should trade OT Branden Albert for the Cowboys SOLB Spencer straight up. Cowboys need a OL and the Chiefs get a SOLB or DE. Both are winners and still keep their draft positions.
