07:04 PM ET 03.18 | In a move that shocks absolutely no one, the Tennessee Titans have cut quarterback Matt Hasselbeck in an effort to save some cash and open up a roster spot for a different backup quarterback. Hasselbeck's time in Tennessee seemed to be ticking as Jake Locker is clearly the quarterback of the future ,and Hasselbeck would have been too expensive to bring back in 2013. Had the Titans kept Hasselbeck on for the 2013 season, he would have cost Tennessee roughly $5.5 million and that would have been to simply be a backup to Locker. In addition to that, Hasselbeck has been in a steep decline over the last few years and seems to not be getting any better at the ripe age of 37, so the time was right to part ways with the veteran. But while he's nothing more than a backup, the question now becomes will Hasselbeck retire in the place his career started: Green Bay?
