07:13 PM ET 03.18 | Derrick Henry was a consensus five-star prospect in the class of 2013, and perhaps the best prep running back in the country. He enrolled early at Alabama, allowing him to participate in spring practice, and so far he's impressing teammates. Linebacker C.J. Mosley compared him to former Alabama running back Trent Richardson, who was a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2011. Henry is a candidate to get playing time in the Tide's running back rotation this fall.

Yea because they definitely needed some more running back depth ha....people hate Bama but you at least have to respect that they are firing on all cylinders. The dominance is quite impressive. Saban is the ultimate hustlerno doubt, eliminating the stereotype of the selfish athlete who wants to walk in and be handed the starting job right outta high school. Those kids have to fight tooth and nail to get on the field. I bet their spring ball games and practices are real wars and probably more comp then most other schools will ever give them

Alabama doesn't even reload.....because that would imply they are empty.
I wonder what the Vegas odds are for the SEC making it 8 in a row?

Guys. I am beginning to think Derrick Henry will be the best of them all. I might be wrong and you never know, but they said he blew away the training regimen they put the incoming freshman in. I think he scored the best ever of running backs.
This will probably be our best chance to win it all again in the next 2-3 years, based on A.J. coming back, but the defense is going to be solid, too.

I think hes older/more experienced than all the other freshmen, though. IIRC Henry set the all time HS rushing record but did so in five years instead of the usual four.
Not saying he's not talented, just pointing out he's somewhat ahead of the curve due to that extra year of HS ball.

Marlins Fan, Derrick Henry broke the High School All-Time Rushing Record in four years, not five. I believe you are thinking of Kelvin Taylor from Glades Day High School in South Florida. He had the Florida record until Derrick broke it., and he had five years of HS ball. Derrick has not had an extra year of HS football. I agree with Joe Kid #1.....best ever.

I said "may be the best ever". And I only meant for the Alabama team. It would be pretty premature to say best ever in college.

This Offense is loaded. With AJ coming back along with all of the WR's returning and Chris Black, DeAndrew White and Kenny Bell returning from injuries and FR's Robert Foster and OJ Howard (TE) joining the group this year, the passing game will be great this year. We know the running game will be great with TJ, Fowler, Henry and the rest of those 4/5 stars recruits. The only thing that will keep the scoreboard from burning up will be Saban putting the brakes on because I don't think there will be any defense that can hold Bama below 40 points this year.
