Scola a loser in Suns' new day

08:09 AM ET 03.19 | Though he had established himself as a reliable starter over his first five seasons in the NBA, Luis Scola has found himself in an unfamiliar place lately with the Suns: on the bench. With the Suns struggling to forge an identity under interim coach Lindsey Hunter, Scola's role often has been reduced as Hunter experiments with different rotations. The 6-foot-9-inch Argentinian admits to feeling discouraged at times. "It's hard for me. It's hard," Scola said. "It is (frustrating), but I try to use that frustration to work a little harder. Just try to stay ready and in shape." Whatever frustrations he may be feeling, Scola is keeping them private, living up to his reputation as a team player.

so phoenix is a total mess......
but even so- not sure why they have this guy riding pine OR why he wasn't moved at the deadline. He is a solid NBA player that can help a team

Not necessarily...playing time is dependant upon a few things - the direction of the team (youth v. winning), the mindset of the coach, the construction of the team, etc....
How many times have you seen a guy who was getting ZERO run on a team go somewhere else and ball out? The answer is plenty...PHX is a mess, Scola can play still, they just want to go "young" right now

Under that logic, Steve Nash and Dwight Howard must really suck......since they never wone championships with their previous teams.......and they could barely help L.A. get to .500

Feel for him.. One thing to ride the pine,, another to get sent there by an unproving coach who by the way never been a coach before.

Scola will be in demand in the off-season. A lot of teams would like to have him, so I don't think he is too worried about not fitting in with the Suns as an every game starter.
