Spring's most improved may crack Red Sox lineup

08:13 AM ET 03.19 | What a difference a few weeks makes in the case of Jackie Bradley Jr. [Bradley] was a non-roster prospect when he got to Red Sox camp, albeit a very good non-roster prospect, with what was said to be absolutely no chance to make the Red Sox team. Now, at least, he's in the conversation. David Ortiz starting the year on the disabled list (foot) is one factor improving Bradley's chances. But the bigger factor is the center fielder's play, which has been nothing short of spectacular. ... "I don't see how he couldn't be on the team? He's been their best player all spring," one American League scout said. (He suggests Bradley in left, with Jonny Gomez as the DH.) "He's their second best outfielder," another scout said.

Put Bradley in CF where he belongs. Move Ellsbury to LF.

Either way - just get Gomes away from playing defense. He's a disaster.

True, but why accommodate Ellsbury for a year, when he's leaving after the season anyway. Bradley is the future so put him where he belongs. Ellsbury can whine all he wants, but if he wants to get paid next winter, he will have to produce in 13, wherever he plays

If his time is not now then it will be in a month or two.

Is this guy Milton Bradley's nephew?

don't think so. he's a hell of a player, watched him play at South Carolina quite a bit. good instincts at the plate and in the field. Sox should go ahead and put him in center.

From the very little I have seen from him so far, he reminds me a lot of Michael Bourne. Just curious, with you being a Braves fan, it that a fair comparison?

Yes, but if Ellsbury crashes into someone now, it won't matter as much to the Red Sox. He'll be gone next year anyway.
Can't compare Bradley to Cameron either.

Boston no longer has Adrian "wrecking ball" Beltre playing third base.

Bradley's bat has been nothing short of spectacular in spring training. He may be one of the best things coming out of Florida for Boston - after a Farrell-inspired healing of the pitching staff.

Ellsbury will probably be traded during the season. Bradley's time will come.

They're probably going to tell Middlebrooks to annihilate Ells in the last game of the season.

I think JB JR will be a good player, but I say Bogaerts is the guy to really watch long term. I would guess he's probably not having a great spring if there's no buzz about him.
