08:18 AM ET 03.19 | Both on the floor and off, this has been a very good year for Louisville. The team's success this year led to a No. 1 seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament, which Louisville hasn't missed since 2006. And, once again, Louisville is college basketball's most valuable team, now worth $38.5 million, up from $36.1 million last year. The team's financial success is largely tied to the KFC Yum! Center, the waterfront arena that opened in 2010. The new arena had an immediate impact, driving ticket sales up 28% to $14.2 million and generating over $20 million in contributions to the team, an 84% increase from the prior year. Income from program sales, concessions, parking and other sources also increased by more than $2 million.

Wow, almost 1/3 as profitable at Texas @ football........discrepency in revenue between CBB and CFB is huge. Not sure it was alsway this large.
Just another reason CBB is fading into the background

The truly amazing stat is that UTx basketball is the 12th most valuable program, about even with Duke.
For a team that was well below .500 and could only draw about 5k to a game. That is the power of LHN.

LOL. Yeah, CBB is fading into the background - perhaps you would like to consider the TV Revenues for CBB - BILLIONS of Dollars. Next.

Try again. CBB TV revs are in the 1-3 Million per major conference team range, as opposed to 25-30M for CFB.
You're confusing the amount of $$$ wagered on march madness.
