08:21 AM ET 03.19 | Rangers defenseman Marc Staal hasn't seen any hockey action since taking a puck to the eye earlier this month, but he has seen some family members over the past few days. With the Carolina Hurricanes in town to play the Rangers on Monday night, Jordan Staal and Eric Staal paid a visit to Marc's home Sunday night to see how their brother was doing. Both Eric and Jordan reported that Marc's spirits are much higher now than 10 days ago and they believe Marc can still return this season. "I think he's been in better spirits as of late because he's starting to feel a little bit more progress," Eric said. "I think he was in a lot of pain earlier on and rightfully so. It was good to see him. He was in good spirits."

Was hoping for another Rangers loss just to hear the blather from the man behind the bench again...

That was as nasty as I've seen. Oh what a lucky man he was

that would be a gift to the entire league. If only Sather would then bring in Burkie as special advisor.

Works for me. :-)

Glad he's ok. Hopefully more players (like Orpik) use this as a wake up call.
With all the stick on puck strategy and players trying to deflect the puck up in the netting I'm surprised we haven't seen more of these incidents.

Sounds like the plot for a new Quentin Tarentino film.

The goal in the second period should have been disallowed for Goalie interference... like the other end... but lopsided calls are the marks of the zebras in this league...

where has the hatred for Torts come from?
If it's for his press conferences, you know what? If you had Larry brooks and some of these other morons asking the same inane questions and making crap up every day, I don't know about everyone else, but I'd be rather surley also
He is intense to be sure...but I'm telling you guys,. I watch pretty much every game...he is focused on the game, has the testicular fortitude to bench a star player, and expects the best effort. He gets on the refs...as they all do...he knows the game...he is a coach. I tell you what, he is a damned sight more pleasant than Keenan...or Scotty Bowman....or any of the Sutters
