Sixers could chase Al Jefferson

08:49 AM ET 03.19 | Just days before "Plan A" came crashing down for Andrew Bynum, Spencer Hawes turned in the type performance -- 18 points, 16 rebounds, eight assists and seven blocks -- that make it that much more unfortunate the two may not play together. So, if "Plan A" doesn't work out for the Sixers, what is the best possible option at center? The more I think about it, the more I tend to agree with the targeting of Utah soon-to-be-unrestricted free-agent Al Jefferson. Jefferson is not going to give you what a healthy Bynum would/will. But Jefferson, whom the Sixers will see at the end of their upcoming West Coast road trip, would fit nicely alongside Hawes and Thaddeus Young on the Sixers frontline in 2013.

Wow was Philly stupid to take Bynum.

Basically..they got ZERO in return AND gave up Iggy in the process....good work

I think 90% of philly fans were glad to see iggy go.
but yeah....getting Mr Glass II ?
not a good move- it happens- key is to now cut their losses and move on

Al on a decent team could be a good player- but if he's your #1 ? and he would be on philly....I would look elsewhere instead of giving him max $

JGB,

I wouldn't say we were glad to see Iggy go. He is a great #2 option on any team in the NBA. He just ran his course in Philly and didn't take us to another level. We need an elite post pressence bad on offense and some interior defense that can be a number one A or B option. Jefferson isn't a great defender but we will take what we can get.

Miami, Chicago, Indy, Brooklyn are setup to be long term top tier teams in the East and we are trying to get on the playoff level team. I am not really mad at management they gambled on Bynum and lost. He will either be released or signed and traded.

Philly has even managed to outdumb my Knicks.

Haha Sixers are not as bad as the Knicks man. You guys had some bad years of multiple bad decision after another. We swung for the fences and struck out. We need to find a team to take Bynum for a draft pick or two, or an ok player and a draft pick and I will be happy.

Not as bad as the Knicks? Really?

Angry Al actually plays 82 games a year; He's already an upgrade of Bynum!

Bynum = Bydumb.

Well I should reword to say not as bad as Knicks management has been. Clearly your team is better than the Sixers right now
