Buccaneers close to giving up on Revis trade

12:52 PM ET 03.19 | It was just last week that the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers seemed on the verge of completing a deal for Jets star cornerback Darrelle Revis, but now that is a thing of the past. According to reports, the Jets and Buccaneers have come to a standstill in negotiations and it looks like the Buccaneers are close to giving up on a trade. What New York needs to remember is that Darrelle Revis is only under contract through this season and there is language in his deal that prevents the Jets from hitting him with the franchise tag in 2014. Once that happens, Revis will be out the door and the Jets won't get any compensation in return. If the Buccaneers are really willing to give up a 2014 first-round pick, New York needs to jump on that deal.

I think Tebow would be popular with all the Gator alumni that live in the Tampa Bay area.
