02:52 PM ET 03.19 | The Denver Broncos have offered defensive end Elvis Dumervil, who became a free agent on March 12, a new contract. Dumervil and the Broncos had negotiated a restructured contract just hours before the 4 p.m. ET deadline last Tuesday, but the signed paperwork was not faxed in time, resulting in the defensive end's release. Terms of the new contract haven't been released, but the deal is likely worth less than the three-year, $30 million contract the Broncos and Dumervil originally agreed upon. Once he hit the open market, which featured several quality defensive ends, Dumervil's value went down.

Hard to believe his value went down. Dumerville was one of the best pass rushers in the league just a couple of years ago. And he's younger than most of the other DEs in free agency this year.

Ever since he had that huge season, he has been riddled with injuries. He missed a full season because of injury and has missed games for various injuries even last year. He is one of my favorite Broncos and I want Doom and Gloom to continue, but he has slid down on his production in the last few years.

We want him still here in Denver, his agent screwed up. Why Elvis fired him.

The Team didn't leave him hanging, good for him!

Dumerville can really play even at 5' 11".
