07:39 PM ET 03.19 | As we move ahead, progressing toward the draft, and eventually OTA's, mini camp, and finally training camp, we continue to look for ways to improve the Jets roster. They have done so with mid-level signings such as Antonio Garay, Mike Goodson and Willie Colon. We know that the Jets don't have a lot of salary cap room to work with. A big splash is not forthcoming. But, there are a lot of mid-level free agents still available that can help a roster. After scouring the wire, there is a receiver out there with a lot of potential, and has shown some of it in the past. He would play a decent part in lifting an anemic offense. That guy is Steve Breaston. The man is only 29 years old, he should still have plenty in the tank. With the Arizona Cardinals in the past, Breaston was able to distinguish himself, despite having Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald around him. Despite everything, Steve recorded 77 catches for 1,006 yards and three TDs. That's not too bad, considering that on one side of you is an All-Pro (Fitzgerald), and a guy just behind him (Boldin). Not too shabby at all.

Why else would he sign with the Jets? Certainly not for the chance of winning a SB.
