08:06 AM ET 03.20 | From his perspective, owner Mark Cuban sees Dirk Nowitzki as an elite player for at least three more seasons. Since his 11-year streak of All-Star appearances was snapped, Nowitzki has averaged 18.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game, shooting 49.5 percent from the floor and 50 percent from 3-point range. "What we're seeing now with Dirk is what we can expect to see next year and the year after, if he stays healthy," Cuban said. "And the year after that." Three more years of All-Star caliber play from a power forward who turns 35 this summer? "At least," Cuban said. Nowitzki wasn't so quick to predict the same. "I'm not sure about all that," said Nowitzki.

Dirk is rounding back into form. The coach and his supporting cast just need to understand to give him the ball in the 4th qtr. Dirk gets too unselfish most times. He needs to be more selfish for the team to be better.

What? You can't be serious. "Rounding back into form"? Man, you have to be more objective. Its no knock on Dirk as a guy or player, but the reality is at his age, with his mileage, no reasonable person could expect him to remain the centerpiece for future team success. Dirk has been great, but he's on the back 9. I'm not saying he's done, but you also can't treat him like he's a 2013 draft pick.

And............there it is

Dirk doesn't have to rely on athlethicism to score. So as long as he can shoot and run he should be productive.

And I hate to say it but they will be in better shape than the Knicks starting next season...

Not if they can't sign any free agents cause there young players are crap!!

March 20, 2013  10:27 AM ET

Dirk's game doesn't depend on great athleticism. He should stay great at least 2 - 3 more years. Especially with a wife at home now spending his money. He may need one more contract.

Why... You know something everyone else doesn't....?

Dallas is done under Dirk thanks to Cuban.

With new ways to take care of athletes, I am not doubting Dirk can do it for a couple more years.

Hey DJ, it's Kobe's fault after all. ;-)

New CBA. It's tough when you are way over the cap. NY is stuck w/ the players they have while Dallas has a chance to add some players...

Exactly - But as long as Melo, Chandler and even a mildly healthy Stat are in NYC next year I don't see the Mav's better unless Dwight goes there as well as an elite PG...

I think he increased from 1 medicine ball workout to 2 medicine ball workouts a day. He's pretty much good to go....................forever?
