08:07 AM ET 03.20 | Though Will Ferrell's most prominent NBA role this season came as a security guard in Los Angeles, he made a recent appearance for Miami. Like so many from their generation, Heat players have a fascination with comedic films featuring [Ferrell]. ... [On Monday in Boston, Dwyane Wade] -- having run out of conventional cliched answers to capture the magnitude of Miami's 23-game winning streak -- drew inspiration from a Ferrell character. Asked what it meant, and how it felt, to hold the second-longest winning streak in NBA history, Wade pulled some philosophy from the mostly forgettable racing spoof "Talladega Nights." "If you're not first, you're last," Wade said. "That's what Ricky Bobby said."

Truth be told......winning this many games is an amazing feat of good play and consistency. But the nuggets streak. Is more impressive to me as they don't have 2 top 5 players (and the best player of this generation)

I would venture to say that the league isn't all that watered down, honestly.

They do have the advantage of training and playing at altitude. It's probably the biggest home court advantage in the league. They should always be able to drag their opponents into deep water and drown them. They should be a running team at home at all times.

I wonder if the Heat are going to burn themselves out before the playoffs even start...I think the streak is a great accomplishment but if you don't bring home the championship then is it worth it? Teams don't usually do this during the season because they want some energy left in the tank for the playoffs...

The Patriots didn't lose the Super Bowl because they were "burned out". Just like the Heat won't not-win the title this year because of burn out. There is no such thing. The goal is to win every game. The Heat didn't win the title least year because they lost a game every once in awhile.

Far weaker and a greater disparity between the haves and have nots. This streak would have meant something in the 60s, 70s, 80s and early 90s when teams still played defense and had to work to win. The Heat would have been creamed by any of the elite teams of those decades. This streak is about as meaningless as it's possible to be.
