Pujols battling new ailment

08:12 AM ET 03.20 | On the upside, Albert Pujols' knee can likely be crossed off the list of medical questions for the Angels, but there is a new wrinkle. After Pujols played his first innings of the spring in the field Tuesday, Manager Mike Scioscia revealed that his slugger has also been battling plantar fasciitis in his left foot. Pujols had already declared himself "ready" for opening day and then left the ballpark before Scioscia mentioned the foot issue, which the manager proceeded to downplay. "I don't think it's anything we are concerned about," Scioscia said. ... Pujols had brief bouts with plantar fasciitis in 2004, 2005 and 2006, but he never went on the disabled list because of the condition.

wiseup:When Arthur Rhodes pitched as aset up man for the Reds he suffered with this the whole time at Cincinnati. He ptched okay with it but he said some days it bothered more trhan others. It may not bother pulhos to hit but it may take a step or two as he runs the bases. As he gets older these things will bother him more

the angels are in a deep trouble,,the pitchers aren't doing their job and it reflects in the pitching coach,,,,should the halos get another ugly start in april as last year?? we most expect some heads be rolling,,,

either way the coin be rolling, pujols would get payed in every year untill his contract has expired, aside from that?? the player can't do a thing!!!

angels should be more than worried, rather deeper concern should be prioritised in the angels coaching staff, pitchers aren't pitching to the franchise higher expectation and things are looking worse than last year,,, should angels started the season 5 and 25 this season?? remember we do not have another MIKE TROUT IN the minors,,,

I had it once and was walking with a pronounced limp for about a year. All of a sudden it went away and it never returned.

I had this before and it's no big deal. You have to do special stretching exercises and it will go away. He should be fine. What I was advised to do was stand with my toes on a stairtread, heels overhanging out in midair. Then you slowly lower your heels for the stretch and return to level and repeat. It worked. I know it sounds dumb but when you have it you just want it to go away fast.

Great since I believe the local TV station raised the contract by a quarter billion so they would sign Pujols. Ask the TV station about it. They may be a bit more concerned since they are paying his salary.

None of this would matter if he had signed a 5 year deal with St. Louis. He will be dogged by questions/concerns for the next nine years. Too bad but its what you get with a 10 year deal at his age.
