02:43 PM ET 03.20 | Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd nearly declared early, but NFL scouts decided he wasn't ready. Boyd tested the NFL draft waters this spring and was hoping for a high evaluation, particularly with this year's draft class looking particularly unimpressive. However, NFL Draft scouts weren't so high on him, grading Boyd as a mid-round pick. Boyd decided to return to Clemson after not receiving the grade he was looking for, and will instead try and lead the Tigers to a national championship in his senior season.

I think this young man is one of the best qb's in CFB. Not sure how the "talent evaluators" could give him a middle round grade.

The only reason I care is because Dallas has waited too long to draft a QB to groom and I think 2014 is the year they go after one. I'm hoping someone else emerges because I'm a little underwhelmed with this group. Murray and Boyd are "too short" but so was Drew Brees.

Do you really like Thomas that much? I just don't like what I have seen of him. He has the size and arm, but at times just makes awful decisions. And yes, they have waited too long. Heard a little bit on the radio today that they might be looking at EJ Manuel in the middle rounds this year. Not sure what to think of that. They have a lot of holes to fill.

No, I have the same concerns about Thomas. I think 2014 is kind of a weak QB class if you're looking for a NFL-type arm. McCarron is by far the best decision maker but he doesn't have the arm for deep throws. I like Murray but again he's "too short"!

Of course we have Jerry Jones who selected Quincy Carter on draft day, so who knows ...

Me too. He's a converted tight end. Frankly, I think VT should put him back there. As a QB, he makes poor decisions and his arm lacks accuracy. I don't see him ever making a regular season roster as a QB in the NFL.
