05:59 PM ET 03.20 | Deron Williams will return to his hometown of Dallas on Wednesday, and it'll likely be to some boo-birds. The Brooklyn Nets point guard, after all, did re-sign with the Nets after a brief consideration of joining the Mavs. But a meeting with the team that didn't include Mavericks owner Mark Cuban rubbed the point guard the wrong way. He signed a max deal with the Nets as a result, and afterward Cuban took a shot at Williams by saying the Mavs were better without the All-Star guard. Williams was struggling, but ankle procedures and better health has put Williams on a tear of late ... not that it will be something Mavericks fans will be happy about. "I usually get cheers here," Williams told the Dallas Morning News. "Now that'll probably stop."
