Knicks eyeing Olympiacos' Powell

08:05 AM ET 03.21 | Even with Carmelo Anthony's return from it, the Knicks' infirmary remains full and expensive. With that being said, Mike Woodson plans to meet with GM Glen Grunwald soon to see if adding a big makes sense. ... A source close to the Knicks said that Grunwald "needs to make that call ASAP," referring to releasing a player to sign someone else. However, the big man field is small, which includes Hilton Armstrong, Tony Battie, Josh Boone, Brian Cook, Dan Gadzuric, Troy Murphy, Josh Powell, Samardo Samuels, Henry Sims, Ben Wallace, Hakim Warrick, Hassan Whiteside and Sean Williams. The source said that the Knicks should target the 6-9, 240-pound Powell, who's currently playing for Greek powerhouse, Olympiacos, because the 30-year-old is "still young and strong, and a solid rebounder."

Stay as is - Chandler our main big man will be back next week - K-Mart has been a great pick up so far and is getting better each game - Camby is playing well in the limited minutes he has been on the floor - Good chance that both Kurt Thomas and Rashweed will be back right before the playoffs start as well...

Melo and JR both would like Ben Wallace. What's that, he doesn't shoot and just likes to rebound for us......perfect!

Nah, no shot jgb there. Could you imagine Big Ben and Ty Chan defending the rim? Forget the "Jordan Rules"! The "LeBron/D Wade Rules" would be in full effect!

On the serious though, looks like JR has played under control the last games and the Knicks came up with some much needed wins. The Nets are still keeping pace and making that 3/4/5 seed up in the air. Maybe when this is all over, the Knicks and Clips fans can get together and remember the good old days of Nov & Dec of 2012.
