08:15 AM ET 03.21 | For starters, Nick Saban said of Alabama's replacing Mal Moore, who stepped down Wednesday because of his recent health problems, that it's "not my decision." Saban stressed that he won't be heavily involved in the hiring process. ... Asked if he's ever considered becoming an athletic director, Saban said he "never really thought about it" and essentially eliminated himself as a long-shot candidate to replace Moore. "I certainly wouldn't want to try to do it and be a coach," Saban said. "That's not something I would even entertain to do. My focus right now is on trying to improve what I do and how we do it and what I can do to try to contribute to it."

Saban would make a great AD but as soon as the football program stumbled the fans would call for his return to the sideline. Similar to Nebraska with Tom Osborne.
Best wishes to Mal Moore.

Sad day for the Alabama family and the entire college football community. His work and accomplishments were exemplary. Best wishes Coach Moore.

To those in this state (that wear the crimson and white) whose entire self-worth depends on the outcome of a football game, the answer is yes.

MAJOR BS on both accounts. Although most big schools have realized the total stupidity in letting their marquee coach also be the AD, he has most definitely thought about it and he will most definitely have the final say in who they hire for the position.
