01:39 PM ET 03.21 | Free agent linebacker Victor Butler is visiting the New Orleans Saints on Thursday, according to Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com. La Canfora also adds that Butler, who has spent all of his four-year career with the Dallas Cowboys, already paid a visit to the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason. Butler has been a consistent presence in Dallas since getting drafted in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Oregon State, but 2012 was arguably his best season yet. Playing in all 16 regular-season games, Butler compiled 25 combined tackles -- a career high -- along with three sacks, three forced fumbles and three passes defensed. All of those numbers either tied or set new career-highs in those categories.

Cheaper is better.

Wow. So, I take it 25 "combined tackles', and 3 each sacks, forced fumbles and passes defended equate to a several million dollar payday in today's NFL. Mind boggling.

It will be great to finally see Butler on the field full time. He has a high motor and a nack for getting to the QB and making plays. Wishing nothing but the best for The Butler

career-highs but not team highs?

The Butler did It!!!

most teams are actually signing in free agency the way it make sense. sorry butler, the days that backups with potential get paid big are gone. im sure he could contribute but 3 sacks as a fill in situational pass rusher is not good. seahawks irvin had 8 in a similar position. now thats good.
