04:56 PM ET 03.21 | At the conclusion of the general managers meeting on Wednesday, it was clear that the NHL managers were focused on improving player safety. With much of the conversation surrounding equipment, hybrid icing and alterations to expanded replay, the league appears to be looking out for their players. The managers passed a vote to make visors mandatory, as well as decreasing the size of goaltender???s padding, which is believed to promote higher shot attempts. Both of these rules will not to be approved by the NHLPA before going into effect. NHLPA special assistant Mathieur Schneider believes the union will be receptive to grandfathering the visor rule.

Why is this so complicated?....I know the players don't want them......but just make it a rule.......give them some decent notice......and be done with it.......meeting after meeting after meeting.......which gives us visor topic after visor topic.......sheeesh.
