08:07 AM ET 03.22 | Derrick Rose says he feels stronger and that his jump shot has improved, but when Bulls fans get to see his game remains undefined. "It can be tomorrow where I feel I can play next game," Rose said after Thursday's morning shootaround. "Nobody knows but God." Speaking to a group of reporters in Chicago for the first time since last October, Rose reiterated he has suffered no setbacks in the 10 months and nine days since doctors surgically repaired the torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. But with just 15 games remaining following the Bulls' game Thursday night with the Trail Blazers, Rose also reiterated caution. ... "Bad," Rose said, when asked how much he wants to play. "But my health is the biggest key."

He's not coming back to help his team this year. He just has announced it yet.

I hate when these athletes use god as their excuse.

Hey derrick......how EXACTLY will god be telling you you're ready?
You have a direct line?

"Doctors medically cleared Rose for full-court scrimmaging on Feb. 18."

Start playing some backup minutes in each half.

He's putting his faith in god. There's nothing wrong w/ that. He has already said that he wasn't sure if he is coming back this year but he still gets killed for anything he says.

You're right. I agree. He's coming off a major knee injury and wants to make sure he's as healthy as possible. I agree with that approach and sure his agent does too. A smart thing to do.

It's very dangerous to start questioning players health or pain threshold, especially coming off serious injuries and surgeries. Too many cases where recurring problems lead to finished careers.

no one is questioning his health-
he has been cleared to play for a month....has been playing, and...
Rose reiterated he has suffered no setbacks in the 10 months and nine days since doctors surgically repaired the torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

what some of us are though questioning his mental make-up and his expectations. He has said many times he won't return til he's '110%'....he wants to be perfect before a return and that is IMPOSSIBLE

Well said.

It's going to be a mental thing and only some real game practice will help him start that adjustment.

Oh man, do you hate the Bulls or what. C'mon son, the Ewing era is over! You probably still waking up in the middle of night with nightmares of MJ dunking over Ewing and Starks shooting JR Smith type 3's.
It's OK, let it go man, let it go.

Oh, I thought that is what we do here on FN. We question every decision made by every person ever created.

I'm thinking he probably wants to feel similar to how he felt before the injury. Meaning, if he's not feeling at that level he'll wait until he does. That's probably his goal, though maybe not realistic.

QUOTE(#17):

The kid still has a lot of years ahead of him. Don't take your chance on coming back too early and mess up your knee a lot more. BRoy and Oden's career were shortened by knee problems. I don't blame the kid for being sure and safe.

I agree 100%. Ralph Sampson, Pervis Ellison, as well as Roy, Oden, and countless others have rushed back. In part to appease fans and the team who demand a return.
