08:10 AM ET 03.22 | Two days after receiving a cortisone shot, Shaun Marcum downplayed the tightness in his right shoulder. The pitcher said he has received cortisone shots the past three springs and he does not expect the latest one to affect him during the regular season. "It's precautionary. I feel strong, I feel good," Marcum said. "I'll miss this one (spring training) start and pick up where ever we left off. I'll make my 80-85 pitches that next start and be ready for whatever slot I slot into in the rotation." The 31-year-old righthander said he had not been given the diagnosis of an "impingement," or a pinching or rubbing of the tendons, which the Mets announced Wednesday night. He described the issue as a "tightness" in the shoulder.

I think Marcum is set up for a decent year, but should play it safe early on. You don't want the Mets to let you go, haha.
