Kaleta may thrive on the hate

08:20 AM ET 03.22 | Patrick Kaleta doesn't want your sympathy -- or, really, even your appreciation. He has been widely criticized outside the room by opponents, and was recently criticized by one of his own teammates (albeit in a critique that was quickly recanted). And Kaleta does not seem to care what anyone outside has to say about him, or the way he plays. "Well, if they don't really like me, that means I'm doing my job," he said. "And if I'm doing my job, that means I'm helping my team." Kaleta had a pink scratch under his left eye. Welts, or scars -- or both -- crisscrossed the bridge of his nose like a zipper. ... "I don't have to have people like me in order to do my job," Kaleta said. "My job is to have people not like me."

Best was when those commercials used to come on during guy shows or football. My brother and I were watching something with my Pops when we were kids when that commercial came on, at the conclusion my brother looks at my Dad and says "Hey Pops, what kind of **** do you use"? And then ran for dear life.

This guy is dangerous. He is made of the same cloth that Matt Cooke comes from. It is acceptable to be an agitator, but even then, there is a code. You don't mess with guy's careers. Chirping guys, a little slash here or a hook there to get under skin is fine. However, running guys from behind, elbows, charges, all are not needed to be effective.
And to top it off, he is one of the biggest cowards in the game. He fights (only when he has measured the other guy to be beatable) much like Cooke has done his whole career.
Last night seeing Orr give him no choice but to take a beating was one of the better moments I have witnessed in a long time. Seeing that gutless jellyfish get rag-dolled in front of his own fans and teammates was classic stuff, regardless if Orr received "life imprisonment" as Joe Bowen crowed. I will bet a few of the Leafs gave high-5's to Orr at 1st intermission.
What teammates say about you goes further than anything offered here. Ryan Miller's comments about him pretty much sums up what even most of his teammates think, before Ryan was forced to retract (I guarantee) the next day.
This guy never scores, has no vision on the ice, refuses to fight, and simply runs guys without regard of the puck or making a "hockey" play. Useless.

totally worth it. Even as a Habs fan I can get behind that! I watched it several times over and by the end I was really rooting for Orr to decapitate Kaleta.
