01:12 PM ET 03.22 | The laundry list of problems continues to grow for the New York Yankees. Despite Derek Jeter's MRI on Tuesday showing inflammation on his surgically repaired left ankle, there's a big chance Jeter will miss opening day and maybe beyond that. All offseason, Jeter said he will be ready opening day, so most Yankees fans of course believed it. Its Derek Jeter, it's possible. But the road to recovery isn't always that easy, especially six months after fracturing his left ankle and needing surgery to repair it. The 13-time All-Star complained of stiffness in his left ankle and received a cortisone shot Wednesday morning and will not participate in baseball activities for a couple of days. Yankee general manager Brian Cashman thinks Jeter may miss opening day and could start the season on the disable list. "He might not be ready at this stage given how much time we have left," Cashman said. "We;ve got to be in a position where he plays a full nine innings of defense and back-to-back games. We'll see how he responds."

A leader, but 38 years-old.
He's likely to spend a lot of time on the DL this season.
Time to move on, Yankee fans; admit it.
