02:09 PM ET 03.22 | Florida president Bernie Machen recently discussed a possible scenario that could lead to further expansion by Southeastern Conference. Machen implied the SEC will stick to 14 teams unless an attractive school reaches out to the conference, saying it would stay at 14 unless. "some ace jewel called us and said, 'Can you help us?'" Machen went on to say that the SEC hasn't had any conversations of that nature. He also didn't mention any specific schools that would fit the "ace jewel" description.

Please, Bernie, don't stir up the conference expansion pot.
Oh, and DC, feel free to deliver your favorite 3-word post.

It doesn't sound like he was discussing a scenario, it sounded like a response to a question. He probably didn't want to say the SEC would never look at expanding, so he gave one example of how they might look at expansion.

I wonder how much money Ga. Tech has lost my getting out of the SEC, first going independent and finally ended up in the ACC.
