03:58 PM ET 03.22 | Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Dan Ellis is expected to miss seven-to-ten days after sustaining a leg laceration in the team???s game against the New Jersey Devils on Friday night. The would is believed to be self-inflicted and occurred during the third period of the contest. Ellis had just stopped a Patrick Elias rush attempt and then left the ice with blood on his hands after inspecting his leg. This continues a frustrating year for Carolina goaltenders, as Cam Ward is expected to miss a considerable amount of time after suffering an MCL sprain earlier this year. Justin Peters is expected to take over as the starter.
