12:16 PM ET 03.23 | The Carolina Panthers will re-sign veteran defensive tackle Dwan Edwards, according to Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer. Edwards visited the Miami Dolphins on Thursday and Friday, but decided to re-sign with Carolina. The 31-year-old Edwards spent last season with Carolina after playing for the Bills the previous two seasons. He started 14 games for Carolina last season, finishing with a career-high 6.0 sacks. According to Person, Edwards' 6.0 sacks were the most by a Panther defensive tackle since Kris Jenkins recorded 7.0 in 2002. Originally a second-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2012 NFL Draft, Edwards started 38 games over the last three seasons. He drew considerable interest from Miami, but the Panthers stayed in pursuit. Earlier this week, Carolina general manager Dave Gettleman said the Panthers has a "puncher's chance" to re-sign Edwards.

How could he have started 38 games over the last 3 seasons when he was drafted in 2012?

The FN interns got it wrong. He was drafted by Baltimore in 2004. Stayed with them through 2009 and then went to Buffalo for one year and then Carolina in 2012.
