12:33 PM ET 03.23 | The Houston Texans signed free agent punter Shane Lechler on Friday, according to a report from John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. One of the best punters in NFL history, Lechler will head to Houston after 13 seasons with the Oakland Raiders. Lechler was voted to seven Pro Bowls as a Raider and named to nine All-Pro teams. The 36-year-old Lechler averaged 47.2 yards per punt last season, just below his career average of 47.5. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Houston and Lechler agreed to a three-year deal worth $5.5 million. In Houston, Lechler will replace Donnie Jones who averaged 47.2 yards per punt in his only season with the Texans. This isn't the first time the Texans pursued Lechler on the free agent market. According to McClain, Houston attempted to sign Lechler four years ago before he decided to re-sign with the Raiders.
