01:27 PM ET 03.23 | After seeing his role diminish in Memphis, O.J. Mayo signed with the Mavericks looking for a fresh start. The 25-year-old shooting guard has responded with the best season of his career, averaging 16.7 points and 4.4 assists. He has done a nice job replacing Jason Terry, who bolted for the Celtics this past offseason. Mavs owner Mark Cuban thinks that Mayo can get even better, and believes the youngster should use Terry's development in Dallas as an example to follow. "They're completely different players, but I think O.J. can learn a lot from Jet," Cuban said. "Jet really got better when he became catch and shoot or one dribble and shoot. I think that's something that O.J. needs to add to his game, and I've told that to him." Whether Mayo's improvement comes in Dallas remains to be seen. He has a player option for next year, and because of his excellent play this season, he'll likely enter the free agent market to cash in.

QUOTE(#1):

I think he will stay in Dallas next year and then see what the market offers. To many GMs and teams are still fitting themselves into the new CBA.

The Denver Nuggets would be a good team for him.

He's bolting for the Bulls as soon as he can. That will be the perfect compliment to Derrick Rose considering he musters up the courage to make a comeback next season. He might still be suffering from PTSD.

I don't think Mayo is going anywhere, since Cuban has maintained plenty of "financial flexibility" over the last couple of seasons and can give him the contract he wants.

The Nuggets don't really need another shooter and would do better with someone better defensively.
