08:17 AM ET 03.24 | An NCAA source says Miami sent a strongly worded letter to the NCAA essentially saying that it reserves the right to sue the NCAA (that's considered a last resort) and disputing the NCAA claim that the infractions committee doesn't have the right to dismiss the case, which UM will formally request this week.

I still say that Donna Shalala will open a big can of worms, if Miami sues the NCAA!!! Does she want that???

Hope they do sue and Emmert-the-pompous-schmoe gets his comeuppance.

Miami's lawyers will be paid in weed, hookers and boat trips.

LMAO! The gullible nature of the media and their sheep followers who love nothing more than hear/read a story to justify their pre conceived bias against UM, got taken by the biggest con-man this side of Madoff. And as the exaggerations and fabrications have to come to light, and the malifeince of the NCCA exposed, the public still holds on to these unfounded notions.

It speaks volumes.

It's a sign of Miami's desperation that they are threatening legal action as part of their defense. I believe that Miami will only bring significant retribution upon themselves by this approach. In one thing, the NCAA has been consistent: member schools that publicly oppose the NCAA during investigations/infractions hearings are harshly punished. This goes to the core of the NCAA operating system. Member schools have an obligation to obey the rules. If violations are found, member schools have an obligation to clean up the problem. Miami was following this path until they realized they were still going to be hit with a Lack of Institutional Control charge. Since then, it has been one story after another about lawsuits and congressional investigations. Again, it smells of desperation.

I think they deserve the death penalty.

The coaches, administrators and players should be taken out and shot.
