Win over Florida would add year to Tubby Smith's contract

10:04 AM ET 03.24 | Gophers basketball coach Tubby Smith would receive an extra year on his contract by advancing to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament with a win over Florida on Sunday, March 24. Entering the tournament, Smith's future as Minnesota's coach was considered uncertain. But he received a $150,000 bonus for winning in the second round against UCLA on Friday, and he would receive $200,000 plus the one year added to his contract for winning in the third round Sunday. The Gophers' fortunes in the NCAA tournament, however, don't affect the $2.5 million buyout on his contract.

Number one the Pioneer has got their rounds mix up, this is round two for the Gophers not three. Number two the Gators are two quick for the Gophers style of play to win.
