08:21 AM ET 03.25 | Because two Morrows were swapped, Boston has one less trade target. [Brenden Morrow] has agreed to waive his no-trade clause for a deal that will send him along with a third round pick to the Pittsburgh Penguins for former first round pick/defenseman prospect Joe Morrow and a fifth rounder headed back to Dallas. ... [A] source indicated to CSNNE.com that Boston had indeed put in an offer for the rugged left winger. The same source indicated to CSNNE.com the Bruins had a standing offer of 19-year-old Russian prospect Alex Khokhlachev and a second round pick on the table for Morrow, but the player and Dallas management decided to go with Pittsburgh's offer instead.

Why would any hockey team trade for a Blue Jays pitcher?

because you can never have enough good pitching, even in hockey

I am not sure how I feel about this deal, but it is done. Gotta live with it one way or the other.

No mention of Lucic being demoted from the first line to the third?

March 25, 2013  09:32 AM ET

Dude has been a true pro through some good and a whole lotta bad down here. He's a stand-up guy and still has something to offer on the third line for the Pens.

I wish nothing but the best for him.. he's earned the right to compete in the playoffs.

And just because he's scoring less than Steve Urkel.

Their entire team is in a scoring slump. They netted only 6 goals on their just completed 1-3 road trip.

I've watched Morrow play for Wilkes-Barre and he has some potential, but that is at least 2 years away. He's only 20 so he still has a lot of time to mature, but the Pens have some pretty good defensive prospects in the organization. He may help Dallas, but I don't think the Pens are going to miss him. I also think that getting Morrow is going to be like when the Pens picked up Guerin. He helped on the ice and he was a great guy in the locker room.

Yesterday was as good as two-morrow for the Pens.

Ray Shero deftly picked inexperienced, wet behind the ears GM Joe Nieuwendyk's pockets.

Makes me think of Butch Goring getting traded to the Islanders way back when.

It was the piece that was missing for NY. Not that Pitt is missing too much mind you.

PensFan, are you kidding me? You'll love what Brenden Morrow brings to the table, especially during the playoffs. Hang on to your hats, Eastern Conference! The Pens have more sand than Miami beach!

They would be turning to Leafs ... except that Lord Irk's no longer there to have his pockets picked for a couple of 1st rounders. Damn! I miss him!
