01:30 PM ET 03.25 | The Kansas City Chiefs have the first overall pick in the upcoming draft on April 25 and have been spending the last few weeks going around the country to see all the top prospects in person. On Monday, they checked out Florida Gators defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd, according to the Chiefs official twitter. Floyd is a player many believe will be off the board within the first three selections

KC better pass. Floyd is more of a workout warrior than anything else, and KC has made a habit of drafting crappy defensive kinsmen lately. Glenn Dorsey, Tyson Jackson, Tamba Hali, and the worst of the bunch, Dontari Poe. (What a horrible pick Poe was...)

Point being, KC and their first round busts at D-line is reminescent of Detroit and the first round bust receivers from a few years ago.

The Chiefs are at a crossroads right now, and they need to be extremely judicious with this years' first round pick. Floyd has done nothing to prove he's worthy of the top selection, and to be honest DL isn't KC's biggest problem area, anyway.

The Chiefs cant blow this. They need to go with Joeckel as the first choice. Don't get cute; don't fall in live with the workout warriors. Do the smart thing and take Joeckel. Keep it simple. Learn from past mistakes.

Forget you ever heads of Shariff Floyd. Take Luke Joeckel

I don't know if I'd say Tamba Hali is a crappy defensive lineman, but the rest of this is correct. Alex Smith would be very happy if they drafted Joeckel.

You'r right, I shouldn't have thrown Hali's name in with the rest of those scrubs. He's actually a pretty productive player.

My apologies to the Hali family.
