03:50 PM ET 03.25 | Washington Capitals forward Mike Ribiero is interested in signing a long-term extension with the team. Ribiero is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the conclusion of the season, which has established him as a piece teams could be interested in pursuing as a rental for the playoffs. However, Ribiero has expressed that he would remain in Washington if the team was willing to give him a long-term extension, which he defines as a five-year contract. Ribiero has three children and wants to remain in one place throughout their high school years. He explains that is why he wants a deal exceeding two- or three-years in length.
