05:22 PM ET 03.25 | After pushing his drive on the 18th hole to the right, Tiger Woods laid up, and came very close to making a 50-foot par putt in winning his eighth Arnold Palmer Invitational golf tournament on Monday afternoon. Along with the win at Bay Hill Golf and Resort comes a number one ranking in the OWGR and a lead in FedEx Cup points. His win ties Sam Snead for eight at the same event, but as The King pointed out in a quick interview as Tiger was playing in, Slammin Sammy did it on different golf courses. Tiger Woods did not have a particularly good day, but it was good enough to capture the win. He continues to struggle at time off of the tee, and puts a lot of pressure on his short game and putter. He was one under par on the day, which started at the third hole, and two under for the round. He missed a birdie opportunity at his first hole today, but made up for it at four. He made the turn at 34, and went even par on the back nine. Tiger Woods has won three tournaments in 2013, and six in his last 20. That's a career for some professional golfers. I'll let you decide if you think he indeed is back.

The naysayers will say that he won't be back until he wins a major.... and even then it won't be enough.

In his post-tournament press conference, Tiger was quoted as saying:

"The best thing about winning is it proves that I am once again playing the game with accuracy and precision."

True story. Kinda.

Just making Augusta and the Masters all that more interesting as there will be more challengers for Eldrick to deal with than just Justin "can't roll it" Rose.

Rose gave the victory away on day 3 . He fought back valiantly , but Woods was in the groove...unfortunately.

I didn't have high expectations for Rose. I was pretty disappointed that Fowler couldn't put some pressure on Tiger. Putting a ball in the water from the drop zone is inexcusable for a pro.

Fowler could not take advantage of any opening that Tiger provided him. I don't think the kid has the mental approach as of yet to be an upper echelon pro.

You're probably right. Maybe he should play more with Rory to see how a young player does it.

QUOTE(#9):

updated; The window for picking this year's Master's winner is now officially open. For this tourney we will attempt to pick the winner only. For subsequent Major tourneys I will consider spicing it up by adding a "total score" pick as well. Picks will be accepted and changes allowed until midnight on Wednesday April 10th.For all 4 majors I will allow last years winner of that particular tournament to have the 1st pick. Seems only right. I am counting on you guys to remember who (if anyone) won last years events. If there was no winner in 2012 for a particular major all picks will be 1st come, 1st serve.Let's get the word out and see if we can drum up some interest in this.Since no one who has jumped the gun picked my boy Bubba I will take him again in 2013.Player picks;Rex.......................Bubba WatsonHarry Crack..........Dustin JohnsonGolden bay...........Phil MickelsonJakester................Steve StrickerThe Bishop...........Brandt SnedekerWhale 2...............Tiger WoodsHelen...................Graeme McDowellSlappy..................Rory McIlroyTaylormadeR7......Adam Scott

Thanks Rex...........I feel better now. I'm not as dumb as even I thought I was.

Rory better figure some things out quick. I can't believe it is just the equipment. You would think that Nike would build a club to the exact spec that Titleist had for him.

Tiger has a new Nike ad, he says that winning takes care of everything. Now, the goody two shoes are upset with that.
