Surprise Rose appearance unlikely for showdown

08:09 AM ET 03.27 | At the very least, Tom Thibodeau offered some good news after a pre-Heat practice that included the likes of Nazr Mohammed, rookie Marquis Teague, swingman Daequan Cook, forward Vladimir Radmanovic and 10-day contract signee Malcolm Thomas, as well as Derrick Rose, in one drill. As for Rose, while he took part in the competitive one-on-one session -- and had his moments, though Radmanovic stole the show, seriously -- it doesn't appear as if a dramatic return will come about against Miami, one of the Bulls' primary rivals. "We just want him to do what's best for himself, what's best for his body, what's best for his future. We don't want him to come out here and just jump into it because of pressure from outside," [Mohammed said].

QUOTE(#4):

Rose is done. He'll never be the same player.

physically or mentally?
I'm sure the knee heals to close to 100%.
However, if he's always going to be scared to cut or plant on his knee, you're right. Mentally he's already done.

but the 2 things are totally different-granger is still physically hurt.rose is notits all mental with rose- that is why I'm 'hatin' wouldn't you agree that when he comes back he will have to be inserted slowly? rather than sticking him in there for 40 minutes game 1?if he's been practicing full blast in practice what is different about playing in a game?

Adrian Peterson wasn't scared to get out there on his repaired knee when it was ready
Just sayin

Bring him back, off the bench, and if it don't feel right in a game.......then yank him. Put on Kidd, surely Kidd couldn't blow by him nowadays!

Some ex-NBA player, wish I remember who, was stating on the radio the other day that the hardest part after he had this surgery was back-pedaling and cutting off the back-pedal on defense never seemed right. AP just runs straight forward could be one reason.

yes. wait. what?- agree though....bring him in with the 2nd unit, let him hear the cheers from the crowd, let him play against a scrub and then pull him.

Yep, until he clears the hurdle in a game, he may never think he can do it in practice. Like jumping off the high dive, until you do it you never think you can.
