Auburn lacking at skill positions

08:14 AM ET 03.27 | Kiehl Frazier and Jonathan Wallace are in for a busy spring, which opens Wednesday at Auburn. Auburn only has two scholarship quarterbacks, three scholarship running backs, five scholarship receivers and a handful of safeties available, meaning the Tigers' coaching staff will have to monitor those spots closely. "The good thing is that they're going to get a lot of reps," Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn said. "We'll start out with equal reps. Probably the biggest concern they worry about is their arms. You've got to protect your arms." Overwork may have contributed to the arm problems Frazier and former Tigers quarterback Clint Moseley faced last spring and halfway through the fall.

"Overwork" meaning "the defense has let the other team score too much and we have to play catchup."

A while back, there was a story about Alabama having 8 qb's in spring camp (6 on scholarship, 2 walk-ons). Maybe Gus could borrow a couple from Nick?

A great story would be one of the six scholly QBs becomes disillusioned, leaves Bama for Auburn, completes his year in waiting, wins the starting gig on the plains, and goes on to lead the Tiggers to victory in the Iron Bowl.
