01:02 PM ET 03.27 | Gaither, 27, was a fifth round selection of the Baltimore Ravens in the 2007 NFL Supplemental Draft and took over as the team's left tackle in the 2008 season. After missing the 2010 season with a season-ending back injury, Gaither was signed to a small, one-year contract by the Kansas City Chiefs and played in 10 games before he was waived by the team. He finished the 2011 season with five starts for the Chargers who gave him a four-year deal worth $24.6 million. The move proved premature though, as further back issues only allowed Gaither to see the field in four games in 2012.

Seems that the 2010 back surgery wasn't very sucessful.

While with the Ravens, Gaither became injury-prone and gun-shy about his injury. I think that during all of his setbacks, he lost his resolve to really try hard.

He was worth the risk for the Chargers, but if only they had signed him for less guaranteed money. I knew this day was coming - Gather can't be trusted.

His work ethic seems to be tied to money, as well. He seems to value himself as if he were healthy, which he seldom is.

Roids aren't for everybody!

Further back issues didn't cut his season short, his laziness won out. Dude flat out stole millions of dollars from the Chargers. What a bum.
