01:46 PM ET 03.27 | The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are bleeding top prospects from their 2012 recruiting class. The latest is wide receiver Davonte Neal. The punter and backup wide receiver will be transferring from the program. This is the third high-profile prospect from last year's Notre Dame class to leave South Bend. Quarterback Gunner Kiel announced he was transferring from the program in early March. Cornerback Tee Shepard didn't spend a long time in South Bend, leaving after three months.

Kiel was a last second transfer from LSU. I'm guessing that he saw what he was up against and decided that he didn't like his chances of playing in the near future, and given the system that will be implemented, he probably just didn't fit in. This move doesn't worry me at all.

The other two are harder to call. I don't follow any of this close enough. Is it because these kids don't feel they have a shot at competing? Is it because of the coaches? Is it because of the classes? We don't know, and this article doesn't do much to clarifiy the issue.

This team is a few months removed from a trip to the NCG. If these three aren't interested in staying because Kelly's too hard on them, or the standards (on field and off field) are too high at ND, then I don't think that anybody will mind these kids leaving.

and Gunner Kiel was the kid that decommitted from IU and LSU.

These kids were probably smacked in the face with the reality of playing in a program that has really high standards on & off the field. If it's not for them, no problem...good luck elsewhere.
