04:05 PM ET 03.27 | The Boston Bruins will not be trading goaltending prospect Malcolm Subban, according to general manager Peter Chiarelli on Wednesday morning. In an interview with a radio station, Chiarelli stated the organization???s goaltending depth will have no impact on Subban being a potential trade chip. Subban???s name has surfaced in trade discussions due to the Bruins??? interest in Calgary Flames captain Jarome Iginla. According to most accounts, the Flames are requesting a first-round draft pick, top prospect and secondary prospect in exchange for the 35-year-old forward. Subban is believed to be the top prospect the Flames would be interested in acquiring.

A secondary prospect is someone who gets called up from the minors to fill in whenever a primary prospect gets hurt.
