Steelers nearing offer to Bradshaw

08:03 AM ET 03.29 | Ahmad Bradshaw may have found his next NFL home. NFL.com's Aditi Kinkhabwala reported that Bradshaw is getting a physical from Pittsburgh Steelers doctors on Thursday. If everything checks out -- which is no certainty -- Pittsburgh will make an attempt to sign the free-agent running back, according to a source apprised of the visit. Bradshaw was a productive player during his six-year run with the New York Giants, but durability concerns make him a risky play for teams looking for backfield stability. Coming off his latest foot surgery, Bradshaw opted not to meet with teams during the early part of free agency. Bradshaw, 27, has undergone three known surgeries on his right foot, as well as procedures on his left foot and both ankles.

Bradshaw at his peak was a rare combination of size and speed. But it's not surprising that his feet and ankles wore down with all the force being applied to them. He was great for the Giants when healthy, and I hope he has a good year with the Steelers.

The guy, even with bad feet, is one of the better RBs in the league, he plays hurt, and BR would love him-he blocks back there on pass plays.

He would be a great addition, see if they can work a deal.

Get rid of an injury prone RB and replace him with another injury prone RB? GENIUS!

March 29, 2013  09:38 AM ET

I don't like this.

If he's health, I like it. It will be like Beanie Wells taht the Steelers took a look ayt earlier in FA. He has to pass the physical before the Stellers will offer him anything!!!

Wells failed the physical, so no offer from the Steelers. The same will go for Bradshaw!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Injured? He still ran for over a thousand yards and averaged 4.6 a carry. The guy can play and does even when not 100%. He just turned 27 last week. The Steelers would be smart to sign him if he can pass a physical.

Note: He has averaged playing in 14 games a season for his career. Injury prone? Just how many quality NFL RBs have averaged that?

He should have stayed with NY.

I feel the same, but you do not draft Wilson to sit him and Brown did a great job. I wish him well, but if he cam back for say $1.5 million for a year to back up, I would like that a lot.

Bradshaw will do well wherever he goes. One should be cautious with him having had multiple surgeries but if he has the right scheme and a good backup to spell him, he will thrive.

Bradshaw coming to Steelers would be awesome..........oh, wrong Bradshaw.

If he stays healthy Bradshaw may very well be the answer at RB for the Steelers.
