08:19 AM ET 03.29 | For starters, no one's talking about a potential Brad Stevens-to-UCLA move -- which is where speculation fills the void. In the last day or so, word of a certain private plane that took off from LAX and traveled to Indianapolis International Airport on March 25 has been rumored to have been carrying UCLA athletic director Dan Guerrero (or at least some member of the athletic department). This plane most definitely exists, but there's little concrete proof that it had anyone from UCLA in it. ... [It's] pretty unlikely we'll ever know for sure who was inside. Still, I won't deny that when I saw the plane's path, to Indianapolis and back to LAX with in the course of a day, its existence intrigued me.

Take the job Brad. Head to LA. You've done as much as you can at Butler. Its time to move on.

If Stevens leaves Butler, is the school still attractive to the new Big East?

Good question.

I think he and Smart are not as motivated by prestige and money as others. If so, they would have been gone from Butler and VCU long ago.

Heard Don Haskins say many years ago that the best decision he every made was staying at UTEP after 1966...even though he had to change his mind a couple of times after agreeing to leave.

Not sure if tru or not, but I heard that at FGCU, they are getting donations to raise their coaches salary to 300,000...that is RAISE it to 300,000. Most assistants make more than that....

He's a perfect fit; a very Wooden-esque coach, very cerebral. It would be his last stop, I think.

The "Real" Big East (aka C7)? Or, the conference-to-be-named-later?

C7

Stay where youre at Brad. The UCLA job isnt what some dopes out there think it is. The recruits there are all pre madonnas who travel with their posses and are bigger headaches than youll ever need.

LMFAO, how in the hell do you know what happens at UCLA??? You are living in Bama!!!!!!

I hope Stevens realizes that the last few ucla coaches were just bad fits and that his situation would be kinda of like a reset to earlier, happier times in Westwood. He has the skill, personality and youth to bring ucla back to glory and keep it there for a long time. I hope (as a longtime ucla fan) he can see this.

BISP: You sound like you're describing USC football....just sayin! In truth, nothing is as it used to be. UCLA needs excitement and Howlands' brand of basketball was too old school. Stevens would bring youthful exuberance and an up tempo style that will appeal to more SoCal players.

Speculatively, "pre-Madonnas" could refer to Madonna Louise Ciccone as a Michigan teenager...

The conference to be named later might be interested in their football team. ;-)

I almost included that in my comment, but didn't want to appear to be making sport of the B.I.S.P.

From me, it was an olive branch. I'm always looking for the obscure humorous angle.

C'mon, go out a report on a real story and earn your money with stories of substance, not speculation and heresay.
