08:20 AM ET 03.29 | So much for the love of a son. As Michigan State went through practice at Lucas Oil Stadium on Thursday, coach Tom Izzo was confident he would at least have the support of his family when the Spartans take on Duke on Friday. Well, maybe part of the family, anyway. That's because Izzo's son, Steven, didn't exactly stick with his team when he filled out is bracket. In fact, the younger Izzo picked Duke to beat Michigan State in the NCAA Tournament Midwest Regional semifinal. "As I told a lot of people, I love my kid," Izzo deadpanned after Michigan State's practice Thursday afternoon. "He's a skinny little guy that won't be eating for a month if we lose this game. That's the way it works. That's the way it goes."

because we all give a damn about Tom Izzo's son...

I sure hope the boy is right.

Give him a break. The boy's just trying to win the contest.

The way it seems to be going this year, one should pick the lower seed every time except for tOSU. They'll make a shot at the end to snatch it away from the lower seed.

A subtle way for him to infer that Duke will fall to the Spartans.

Did you matriculate at Duke, Docmadinejad? Spend some portion of your youth in the NC triangle?

Whether the Spartans win or not, I just watched Kansas just utterly blow their game against Michigan just now.

Hey Steven, money talks, but blood always has a home.
