Cardinals interested in trading for Carson Palmer

10:26 AM ET 03.30 | The Cardinals are at least interested in exploring a trade with the Raiders for quarterback Carson Palmer, according to NFL sources. Palmer's status with the Raiders is in question after the team reportedly agreed to a trade with the Seahawks on Friday for backup quarterback Matt Flynn. There are several hurdles to clear before the Cardinals would agree to a trade. First, the Cardinals would not be willing to part with more than late-round draft picks. And Palmer would have to agree to a restructured contract, one that pays him considerably less than the $13 million he is scheduled to make in salary this season. Palmer, 33, could provide a bridge to the future for the Cardinals, who have been searching for Kurt Warner's replacement for four consecutive off-seasons.

The Flynn deal is a great deal. Flynn can fling it.

LOL, yeah but can he "fling" it to a player on his team??? :-)

With the recent success the Cards have had at QB.. this can't miss

Palmer = out is a good thing
Flynn = in is not.

Matt Flynn is the answer to a question that has not yet been asked.

Palmer took advantage of his big contract in Cincy, invested wisely, "retired" when they wouldn't trade him, then came back for another shot with another team. He was the #1 overal pick ten years ago but time marches on ... he's 33.

Dr., I have said many times, that if you can last 9 years as a "starting QB", in the NFL, then you are a pretty good player!!!! :-)

Not so fast.Reggie McKenzie was at Green Bay while Matt Flynn was carrying the clipboard for Aaron Rodgers for what 3 years?Same way that Rodgers was slowly brought along.McKenzie knows Flynn and was willing to dump Palmer for him.This also tells me Pryor is not the answer.No one is really excited about him.

I hope Flynn is the answer for the Raiders, but I wouldn't count on the fact that, "Mckenzie know Flynn"!!!! Flynn was a 7th round draft pick!!! Yes I know that there were a few QBs, that were drafted in the 5/6/7 round that were a decent or good starter in the NFL. Good luck Matt with the Raiders!!!!

Exactly. And if you don't spend your rookie contract on bling, ****, cars, jewelry, mansions and furs then you can retire when you want. That's the "Not TO" method.

Or you're a player with a delusional owner/GM who cannot admit he made a big mistake.

Good point, but then "delusional owner/GM" would become plural, as there were two teams that thought Palmer was the answer!!! :-)

Yes he can.

How about they trade Skelton, Lindley, Hoyer and Stanton for him? I'd just like to clear out the whole lot of mediocre QBs and start over.

So, based on the threads this morning, the Raiders are swapping their bust QB for the Cards bust QB. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the bottom dwellers of the AFC and NFC West.
