10:57 AM ET 03.31 | The Indians not only keep track of first-pitch strikes, but they are now targeting strikes when the count is 1-and-1. They believe that third pitch is the "tipping point." A ball swings the count in favor of the hitter, a strike is a huge advantage for a pitcher. The average hitter has a batting average about 100 points higher at 2-and-1 versus 1-and-2.

Since Terry is here now it looks like the Tribe is going back to basic and using the system all other teams have known for years.

It may not put them on top of the other teams in their division but,,everything its looking mighty bright for the indians,,,, my guess is the indians walk in through the wildcard availability,,,

QUOTE(#2):

I hope the Tribe has a good 2013.

very positive approach and a agressive at bats in every game, should give the indians a wide open door towards the pennant race,,,

with the new manager and a wide baseball knowledge in the front sit,, the indians wouldn't longer be the ugly ducky's,,,,

QUOTE(#8):

I hope you are right. The Tribe has been disappointing for several years now.

Some excellent first halves, followed by some abysmal second halves.

So when the count is 1-1 swing...they are throwing that strike and everyone now knows...way to go.
