04:45 PM ET 03.31 | The Miami Dolphins are looking to sign free agent offensive tackle Eric Winston, just as long as he's willing to take a short-term deal that's not worth "huge money," according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald. Obviously, Winston might not be very willing. Winston, 29, received a four-year deal worth $22 million from the Kansas City Chiefs in 2012, but was released in a move to save salary cap space after the team finished with a 2-14 record in 2012. Prior to joining the Chiefs, Winston was the starting right tackle for the Houston Texans for five seasons, earning a five-year, $30-million extension in September 2008.

Dallas should snag him and then focus on drafting either Warmack or Jon Cooper. This would allow Smith and Winston to play tackle and Free and Warmack/Cooper to fill the guard spots with either Costa or Cook at center.

Which would allow the Cowboys to, you know, actually have a good offensive line for once.

A five year deal in 2008 ... so he had a "contract" for 2013. A four year deal in 2012 ... so he had a second "contract" for 2013. And now he is trying to get a third contract for 2013 ... one where he will actually receive money in 2013. Such is the nature of announced "contracts" in the NFL.
