08:10 AM ET 04.01 | 'Tis the season for not-so-great basketball. As the calendar flips from March to April in the NBA, avert your eyes if you know what's good for you. March Madness demands the nation's attention, the one-and-done college tournament bringing its annual smorgasbord of drama, upsets, made-for-TV storylines and the myth of student-athletes who are really there to make billions for others. In the NBA, it's nothing but March Badness. The sport of professional basketball becomes more of a sideshow every year around this time. From the resting of superstars to the meaningless games to the tanking for better odds in the draft lottery ... the NBA isn't a sport for [anyone] in late March and early April.

yeah we should be captivated by teams struggling to break 40 points.

if it werent for the tourney college basketball would be irrelevant. and the only reason we care about the tourney is for gambling purposes...not because its a good product.

I always thought this but for some reason the masses had me believing I was wrong...

Thank you for validation after so many decades of March Blah-ness!

a harris poll had college basketball as the 7th most popular sport in america behind hockey and soccer.

hockey and soccer! thats when you know a sport is dying. the nba on the other hand is killing it. the ratings are near what they were during the jordan era.

Playoff races? Playoff positioning?

Knicks, Pacers, Nets, Bulls, Hawks, Celtics, Bucks, Griz, Clips, Spurs, Thunder, Nuggets...and I'm sure more that I'm not even thinking of are all playing for the best possible spot in the playoffs.

Those games are...boring? Smh these notions are the problem with sports today. People can't appreciate the different aspects of the game.
