08:26 AM ET 04.01 | Kari Lehtonen, who is likely to start again Monday night, can hope to return to something other than the shooting gallery that greeted him Sunday when the Stars were at a 40-15 shots disadvantage in a 3-2 loss to the Kings. "It was like teams from two different leagues tonight, and they were back-to-back, so thank the Lord that they weren't fresh," Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said. "We're fighting for our lives here. After an embarrassing outing in front of our home fans like that, we better come out hard [Monday]." ... [Lehtonen] made 37 saves in his 14th consecutive start to keep Dallas in a game they probably shouldn't have had a chance to win.

cellar sellers?

Glen is getting desperate and now calling the team out in the media. I think ownership sticks to their guns and he last through the season, but I'm betting a change happens pretty fast after that.

Gulutzan better get used to this kind of scenario for the foreseeable future.

Same old story... all season long.

15 shots on goal - friggin' ridiculous!

As stated above. Better get used to it for the foreseeable future. That's the price of rebuilding.

It'll be without Gulutzan.

QUOTE(#10):

I can't see Dallas in a long rebuild. They have some really good players that just need the complementary pieces. I definitely see Dallas competing far before I see Colorado, Calgary, San Jose or Tampa doing so.

They show signs that they "get it" (like the game against the Wild on Friday)... then follow it up with that embarassment yesterday. It's happened way too many times this season.

And I don't lay it at the feet of the kids... they are growing. But I am really getting tired of Gologoski and Daley getting their **** handed to them.

I have stated that Goligoski is Polish for "Abysmally Horrible". He needs to be on the first trade boat out. Losing Neal and Niskinan for this bag of turnovers is still stinging. The Stars need to dump the guys that aren't going to re-sign (Jagr, Whitney) and would hope that Robidas would wave his NTC but don't think it would happen. Not sure what he would get in return as a trade piece either. Just would hate to see the UFA's at the end of the season bolt ala Richards and get nothing in return. Even if the Stars somehow weasel their way into 8th, they're going to get reamed by Chicago, so IMO, trade what you can and try to get the pieces necessary (Defense and LW) to bolster next year's roster. Oh and Fire Niewy and Gulutzan....these two have to go!

When I say "dump" I meant to say trade. The english language has escaped me today.

Daley should be playing on the wing, not the blueline.

I couldn't believe that anyone would trade those two guys for Gogo. Prior to the trade they auditioned him and Letang for the role of quarterback on the power play. Letang stepped up and Gogo stepped back. I don't think anyone in Pittsburgh shed a tear when he left.

Niskanen is a solid defensemen and Neal has really picked up his game.

You, me and a whole slew of others stood in disbelief with that trade.

As much as I loved Niewy as a player, I loathe him as a GM. I just pray that when/if Jagr and Whitney are traded, we get something at least more than half serviceable in return. Knowing the track record though, it'll be a surprise if Niewy even trades anything at the deadline. As long as the Stars are flirting with 8th I feel they're going to stand pat.

If anything, the Stars need some type of physical presence. Dillon shows a little bit of flash, but between him and Benn (Jamie should never be mixing it up IMO), the rest of the team is Snuggle soft. Big Rig (Olesiak) for a man of his size just isn't physical. Hopefully he can find a little more grit in the AHL, but I'm not holding my breath.

Aye this... across the board.
